Bamboo is a fast-growing grass, capable of growing 3 feet in 24 hours. It requires less chemical processing than tree-based tissue because its fibers are naturally antibacterial. Most importantly bamboo requires no fertilizer, little water, and regenerates after cutting—so the more it's harvested, the faster it grows!

We're an American company, but there is no infrastructure or bamboo supply to have a "Made in USA" paper at this time. After searching far and wide, the highest quality bamboo tissue products we found is being produced in China.

The bamboo we use for our products is grown in the Sichuan region of Western China. This region contains the bamboo type and quantities needed to effectively develop pulp for paper making.

We whiten our 100% bamboo toilet paper rolls using elemental chlorine-free (ECF) technology, a process in which no elemental chlorine is used in the bleaching sequences. Domestically, ECF bleaching is recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as being the “Best Available Technology” to bleach paper products.

Our manufacturers have obtained FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) chain of custody certification, which was vital for us when choosing a manufacturing partner. FSC chain of custody certification verifies that FSC-certified material has been identified and separated from ineligible and unacceptable material as it makes its way along the supply chain from the forest to the market.

The FSC also has a strong focus on securing workers' rights by incorporating core labor requirements into their system. These requirements include fundamental elements on the effective abolition of child labor, elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labor, the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation, respect of freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.
